New Short Term Rental Rules Change Hearing
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CLATSOP COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Clatsop County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, to consider the following: Ordinance #22-01, amending Section 5.12 of the Clatsop County Code related to operating standards for short-term rentals in unincorporated County.
All interested parties are invited to testify in person by attending the hearing or in writing by addressing comments to the Clatsop County Board of Commissioners Chair, 800 Exchange Street Suite 410, Astoria, OR 97103. Written comments may also be sent via FAX to 503-325-8325 or via email to commissioners@co.clatsop.or.us.
Here is a copy of the proposed ordinance. Changes are numerous and here are a few notable changes.
- Permit will now has to be renewed every 2 years versus prior 5 years.
- Permits are no longer transferable.
- For one property the max number of occupants in each authorized sleeping room has been lowered to 2 versus 3 (children 2 or younger not included) to a max of 14.
- Enforcement of violations has been clarified and have specific actions based on type of violation.
- It appears they have strengthened enforcement actions and processes.
- It now is a violation to file false reports of STR violations.
