Roads and Grounds
The responsibility of the Roads & Grounds committee is to advise the Board of Directors concerning the maintenance and improvement of Surf Pines Association roads and properties. Current projects include gate enhancement and protection, scotch broom removal, tree trimming and removal, and pavement management plan development.

North Gate Damaged
Sometime before 3:30 PM today the North Entrance gate arm was knocked off with enough force to sever the wiring for the LED lighting. We will review the camera footage to find out what happened and seek compensation for repairs. We will attempt to reinstall the arm without the LED lighting until Metro Access can come out and repair the lighting.

South Gate Problems 7/21/20
South Gate will be open until repairs are completed.

North Gate Problems
This morning I saw a post on the Surf Pines Facebook Group about the North exit gate not functioning. Within 10 minutes I was at the gate investigating the issue. The gate does not appear to have any damage at all, however, Ken and I were not able to correct the problem ourselves. From speaking with Metro Access over the phone, there may be a problem with the electrical loop that opens the North exit gate. Metro Access will be here tomorrow to identify and fix the issue. Hello fellow Surf Pines Owners, The Roads & Grounds Committee has been quite busy, and I wanted to take a moment to quickly share some updates. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please contact Scott Roose, Roads & Grounds Chairperson, 503-741-1585. Signage Changes The SPA Board and Roads & Grounds Committee have been reviewing the signage at the gates and decided to make the following changes. Two new signs have been added at each entrance gates to notify drivers “One Vehicle At A Time” and that the gates are “Under Surveillance”.
