The House with the Blue Roof Story with pictures Yesterday at our Shady Pines Block Party several members asked what I knew about the big house on top of Strawberry Hill in Surf Pines. What many did not know is that Annie and I actually bought this home with a local contractor Mike Maltman. In 2019 we did a presentation for the TNT (Thursday Night Talks) for the Clatsop County Historical society about the story behind the infamous House with the Blue Tile Roof in Surf Pines at the north end of Surf Pines. Surf Pines supports GEARHART RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT with their own.
This organization provides fire and EMT services for Gearhart and surrounding area including Surf Pines. What many do not realize is that two of our own are on the 4-member elected Board. These include Brent Seppa (Position 2) and Dave Butler (Position 4), who are also owners and members of Surf Pines. Both have been serving the interests of the district and Surf Pines over the last 2 years. They also are both up for election in May of this year. Brent was elected to his position and Dave Butler volunteered to take the place of a former director, so this is his first election. Both have done an outstanding job in…
