Surf Pines supports GEARHART RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT with their own.

This organization provides fire and EMT services for Gearhart and surrounding area including Surf Pines. What many do not realize is that two of our own are on the 4-member elected Board. These include Brent Seppa (Position 2) and Dave Butler (Position 4), who are also owners and members of Surf Pines. Both have been serving the interests of the district and Surf Pines over the last 2 years. They also are both up for election in May of this year.

Brent was elected to his position and Dave Butler volunteered to take the place of a former director, so this is his first election. Both have done an outstanding job in manageing our local fire protection and we recommend showing your support in the upcoming election. Both are uncontested but please show how much we appreciate them by including them in your County vote.

I strongly support David Butler in the upcoming election to retain his position on the Board of Directors for the Gearhart Rural Fire Protection District (GRFPD).
Dave and his lovely wife have been full-time residents and homeowners of Surf Pines for 20 years, and is well known and respected in our community.  He has previously served as Treasurer on the Surf Pines Association Board of Directors.  He has also frequently been a member of the budget committee, at the request of several Board members.
Dave understands the issues of emergency services that are vital to our rural coastal community.  His strength is in budget oversight and development, having been a successful businessman for many years.
One of Dave’s retirement hobbies is golf, he has served as the President of the Gearhart Golf Links Mens Club for many years.
Please feel encouraged to pass this note along to anyone in our area prior to the election in early May.

DAVE LUKENS, former President Surf Pins Association.

The Gearhart Fire Department consists of two fire stations. Station 2900 (670 Pacific Way) is located on the south side of the district, on pacific way. The second station is 2900A (33496 West Lake Rd) and is at the intersection of Westlake Ln & Highway 101. The stations encompass a maximum roster of 30 volunteers with two paid staff. Currently the department includes 1 Fire Chief, 1 Division Chief, 1 Volunteer Assistant Chief, 1 Volunteer Captain, 1 Volunteer Safety Officer, 1 Volunteer Lieutenant, 2 Volunteer AIC Lieutenants, 2 Intern Firefighters, and 18 Volunteer Firefighters.
