Question of the day? Octoberfest or not…

To all members of Surf Pines Association:

We (Community Relations Committee CRC) have spoken to Camp Kawanalong about events for 2020. No events are scheduled now. However they may decide to open the camp later with requirements. We will contact them again in August.

Given that our Octoberfest food is provided by the CRC, and there may be limits to guest numbers. We wanted to ask our members about having it, or cancelling.

Our other question is if our members would feel comfortable sharing space and food with a large group?

In addition, in the past we have had numerous members who have volunteered their precious time. This is why our annual dues are only $540 which is a third to quarter of what most comparable Associations charge.

One of the reasons has been our proactive volunteers who take on the responsibilities that normally would be contracted for. We are in need of some of our new members to join in our community to keep our dues lower. Our Community Relations Committee is down to three active members and the Board liaison.

This community-oriented committee plans and implements social activities, meet and greet new members, and plan and carry out community outreach for all of Surf Pines.
