    SURF PINES 2020 OCTOBERFEST CANCELLED

    It is with regret, that the Surf pines Octoberfest scheduled for Oct 9th has been cancelled.With the continued pandemic threat, the directive from the Governor to maintain social distance, keep gatherings to a minimum, and Camp Kiwanilong currently only allowing limited outdoor events, the Community Relations Committee has decided to cancel this years event.We look forward to 2021 when we can, hopefully, resume our community activities safely.

    The Surf Pines Annual Garage Sale Covid-19 Style

    Big Multi Family Garage Sale at Surf Pines _______________________________________________________________________ Saturday July 25, 2020 from 8-2 As many of you are aware the annual Surf Pines Garage sale was cancelled but several members still wanted to have one. So they are putting this on themselves. Tons of great stuff on what looks like a great day for a garage sale. Start at the South Gate and follow the signs. First house is at 89018 Manion the first home built in Surf Pines. Then follow the signs north. We currently have 5 homes participating but more are joining so may have many more. Please SD/Mask

    No Official Surf Pines Garage Sale this year but some want to do one this Saturday.

    Do to the Covid-19 your Community Relation Committee have canceled this years annual garage sale as a CRC Surf Pines sponsored event. However Kathy Schroeder 89018 Manion DR plans on doing her own event and is advertising for a Garage sale this Saturday July 25 from 8 till 2. She thought that since the gates will be open anyway that others might want to join in to help bring in more people.     We have sad news. We lost Rosco Iverson, one of our little furry friends.

    Four days ago Doug and Vicky Iverson mentioned that their tiny little buddy Rosco was attacked by a large German Shepard. Vicki was walking Lil’ Rosco on leash, on the the pavement (center of the road) when a large German Shepard who was loose ran from a neighbors yard and attacked Rosco. He sustained a bite on his back and Vicki injured her hand pulling the Shepard off. They took him to the Vet with a deep gash on his back. Rosco went home from getting stitches and a drain tube (bite was pretty deep). He was a bit doped up, but happy to be home. Although he was lethargic and was…

    North Gate Problems

    This morning I saw a post on the Surf Pines Facebook Group about the North exit gate not functioning. Within 10 minutes I was at the gate investigating the issue. The gate does not appear to have any damage at all, however, Ken and I were not able to correct the problem ourselves. From speaking with Metro Access over the phone, there may be a problem with the electrical loop that opens the North exit gate. Metro Access will be here tomorrow to identify and fix the issue. Until then, both the entry and exit gates will remain open as per our normal repair procedure. The good news is that gates are…

    Breeze Summer 2020

    Here is our first fully digital Breeze. Clare Hasler-Lewis our new Breeze editor has enhanced our Breeze so it is now fully in color and is ten pages this edition. We have been working on converting this from a print edition for a couple important reasons. First is cost. In order to print, fold, insert in envelope and mail a ten page color newsletter it would cost over $1,600 for each edition. Secondly, many prefer electronic viewing and some still want a printed copy. So to save money and provide both we will have the copy posted online here or there will be a simple link to print out a copy, since…
