It appears that there is a good chance that we might have a storm that might be as bad as the 2007 storm. Please make sure you have battened down the hatches and are ready for a major power outage again. Debris Burning Safety
An unattended debris burn on Ocean Dr was reported today. As a reminder, all debris burning must follow strict guidelines as found on the Gearhart Fire and Dept of Forestry websites. These guidelines are for everyone’s safety. All fires recreational or debris must be attended at all times or completely extinguished before leaving. It Was a Great Day to Clear Scotch Broom
On Saturday, October 24, 2020, the weather was beautiful and we had a fantastic turnout of 15 volunteers to clear scotch broom from the SPA Manion property. For those unaware, the SPA Manion property is bordered on the West by Manion Dr and the North East tip is next to Pine Ridge Ct. Another landmark is High Surf Ln where the Manion property is almost directly East of the High Surf Ln and Manion Dr intersection. This property is where six well heads (now capped) are located. The wells supplied the Surf Pines Community with water prior to Surf Pines connecting with Warrenton City Water. The property has not been cleared or…

How to confirm your vote is counted in Oregon
There is a site that allows all Oregon residents to confirm that their vote has been received and processed. Go to https://sos.oregon.gov/voting/Pages/myvote.aspx?lang=en and click on the Go to My Vote Now button to check to see if your ballot was sent or received. To log in you need your First and Last names and date of birth. As you can see from the two attachments below, that we were registered and the status of our votes. I blocked out personal addresses for this post but thought people might like to see what it looks like. I believe this is similar in most states. Annie and I mailed our ballots out last Saturday…

Volunteer Activity – Scotch Broom Clearing – 10/24/20, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
The Roads & Grounds Committee is organizing a scotch broom cleanup on the Manion property. The entire activity will be outdoors and provide the ability to stay socially distanced. There will be pizza and refreshments provided. EVENT DETAILSWHEN: Rain or shine, Saturday, 10/24/20 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM WHAT ARE WE DOING: Cutting down Scotch Broom and chipping it onsite. You can volunteer to cut it down, carry it to the chipper or help operate the chipper. Chippings are available to Owners if desired. Ballot Drop Box is OPEN!by Gearhart City StaffGearhart’s location – 698 Pacific Way right off of Hwy 101 NOfficial ballots for the November 3rd, 2020 General Election go out in the mail TODAY! Gearhart City Hall is still a ballot drop site. However, the ballot drop box has been permanently installed outdoors this year. As of 10/14, our kiosk is OPEN! It will be locked by the County on 11/3 at 8:00 p.m.Your ballot for the General Election must be received in the Clatsop County Elections Office, or at an official drop site, by 8:00 p.m. on November 3, 2020 in order to be counted.
