News from our former neighbors the Limbird’s from Alberta Canada

Hi all,
We are keeping entertained by taking drives on some of the more rural roads around Cochrane and area.  We are using a Southern Alberta Road Atlas which has individual pages of detailed roads — including all the township and range roads.  It is fun to drive to see the ranches, clusters of homes in places, and the occasional photo opportunities.

This past Sunday, we joined our daughter-in-law Megan and our 3 grand kids for a walk in the historic Cochrane Ranch (just beyond walking distance from our condo).  We were walking past a small grove of spruce trees and noticed some photographers aiming their cameras up into one particular tree.  It turned out to be a mother Great Horned Owl and 3 still fuzzy young who are about to fledge — what a thrill!  We love owls and never expected to see them in the Ranch.  We have gone back twice already to get better pictures since we only had our cell phone on Sunday.

We are sending along a couple of owl photos and one of a windmill and its nearby (pumphouse?).  Kind of a nostalgic Alberta scene.

We hope you are staying safe and well.  There is no word yet here in Alberta for border opening to the U.S. and travel outside of the province is discouraged!  We are hoping to ‘escape’ in the fall if we can legitimately!  We are thinking of you both!
