Even Better news Gate Buster Busted
We have found our culprit who will be reimbursing Surf Pines for the damage they did to our gate the other day. They were identified once again with our gate cameras. This investment in cameras has already paid dividends.
People keep asking why this keeps happening. First it seems to be only happening at the North end. It may be that it is a bit darker and/or sunlight may be a cause, since it seems to happen around late afternoon. We will be looking at ways to make the entry gate more visible.
If the gates flashing red, watch your head!!!
However, the biggest issue is that people keep trying to piggy back on the one in front of them. There is only a 3 second delay on the gate coming down after a car passes through, which keeps non authorized people out.
So if you are following someone through the gates please wait a full cycle or press you own clicker as you follow through. Also, please do not stop at the gate to keep people from following you through. We actually had one member’s car get hit while waiting under the gate.
Lastly, our gate is designed to break loose if struck. However, if you go though fast it can push the gate out enough to strip the wires for the lights. We have one spare gate now so at least we can get it operational quickly.
