Community Relations Committee – Meeting Minutes Feb 27, 2020
New Resident Meet and Greets –
Between January and February Katie and Bonnie facilitated 0 meet & greets for our new residents.
Community Activities Discussion –
- Gardening Workshop
- Wine Tasting
The Gardening workshop, titled; Birds and Bees and Flowers and Trees is scheduled for April 18th noon to 3pm. The location will be a residence in Surf pines, with the exact location to be sent to all RSVP’d guests and speakers prior to the event.
Cecilia will create a flyer and send to Holly Roose to advertise in the March Breeze.
Four guest speakers have graciously volunteered to share their knowledge:
- Karen Beck (Volunteer at Wildlife Center of North Coast) – Birds
- Jeff Hall – (Bee Keeper) Bees
- Kate Besse (Avid Gardener) – Flowers
- Trisha Gates (Master Gardener) – Trees
Wine Social
Bonnie has secured a location and date for the Wine Social. The date will be June 13th 6pm-9m. This event will take place at a residence home in Surf Pines with location to be provided prior to event. Details will be discussed at a future CRC meeting.
Surf Pines Blog – Database – Website –
Tom Smith demonstrated various Surf Pines web pages and database updates.
Currently Surf Pines captures and houses member data in several disparate databases. The goal of the new database is capture information in one database which will streamline data input and ensure member information is current and accurate to better communicate to all Surf Pines resident’s pertinent community information.
Miscellaneous –
The CRC Mission Statement was discussed and Cecilia will review and revise to better reflect the mission of the team.
Next Meeting – Friday April 3rd 9am. Topic will be Gardening Workshop logistics and coordination. (Meeting will be held at Workshop Location)
