Public Survey on STR Limits

The Clatsop County Board of Commissioners is inviting the public to weigh in on limiting the number of short-term vacation rentals permitted in residential zones.

Through the month of August the county is accepting comments from people through an online survey, as well as the two virtual public input sessions.

Details of the proposals, including links to the public input sessions and survey, are available on the Clatsop County website.

For close to two years the Board of Commissioners has spent time listening to various concerns and perspectives regarding short-term rentals (STRs), defined as dwellings that are rented for periods of up to 30 days.

The Board recently adopted ordinances that revised operating standards for vacation rentals, and clarified which zones STRs allowed to operate in.

The Board also extended a moratorium on new STR permits through December 2022.The Board is now looking into how caps/limits on STRs might be applied.Read more.
