We have sad news. We lost Rosco Iverson, one of our little furry friends.
Four days ago Doug and Vicky Iverson mentioned that their tiny little buddy Rosco was attacked by a large German Shepard. Vicki was walking Lil’ Rosco on leash, on the the pavement (center of the road) when a large German Shepard who was loose ran from a neighbors yard and attacked Rosco. He sustained a bite on his back and Vicki injured her hand pulling the Shepard off. They took him to the Vet with a deep gash on his back. Rosco went home from getting stitches and a drain tube (bite was pretty deep). He was a bit doped up, but happy to be home. Although he was lethargic and was…

Did anyone know that Surf Pines was originally a flower farm also.
Yes Barney Lucas was quite the farmer. Not only did he plant thousands of flowers but also planted all the trees here in SP and the scotch broom. Here is a blurb from the 1953 July 3 article about Gearhart and surrounding area.

Surf Pines New Book Lending Box at Gate House.
Surf Pines now has its own Lending Book Box located at the porch of our Gate House. Ravi a super handyman built the Book Lending Box at Sunset Beach at the parking area across from the bakery. He also has been a maintenance person for a couple of our elderly sunset beach residents. He also built a bench for Surf Pines residents Art and Kay Limbird and mentioned he would be willing to build one for Surf Pines at no charge. August 22, 1952 two comments about Surf Pines first about all the beach grass, surf pines and scotch broom saving the beach and storey of Dick Schroeder (Richie Schroeder’s dad) having a golfing green on his front yard. That is the house at south end of Manion and Ocean.

We have lost another old time resident.
Julie Seppa just sent this out My mother in law, Carol Seppa passed away on Tuesday. May she Rest In Peace. So many of our friends and neighbors knew her well. She will be remembered and missed by many. Carol was a descendant of the first female settler to move into Astoria. She married Hugh Seppa. The Seppa family are also old time residents of Clatsop County. Two of her sons and their wives also live in SP. Brent and Julie Seppa and Scott and Heather Seppa. We pass on our condolences, thoughts and prayers for the entire family.

Rainbow Pheasant
Unfortunately this cute little story from Kay Limbird was supposed to be in this quarters Breeze and Holly ran out of room. So we thought everyone might enjoy her little story about a Pheasant and his new boy friend.

It’s time once again for The Breeze to be distributed. Holly Roose would like the newsletter to be out by March 7th, so if everyone can give her their information by March 5th, that will give her two days to put the newsletter together. Since the newsletter is now digital, a cap on content is not as essential as it was before. The only thing she asks is to refrain from personal agendas and content.
