Looking for a fun way to volunteer

We attended the orientation meeting for the Astoria Cruise hosts this afternoon and the first ships start coming in in April. This is the first for over 2 years and the once huge crew of well over 100 volunteers has diminished to about half that number. We have been doing this for several years and everyone has a ball. Take a look at what we are all about and if interested or would like to know more e-mail them at ClatsopCruiseHosts@gmail.com.

What to do with your cans and bottles with new Recycle rules!

Greetings Surf Pines community, My name is Marlie Haggren.  My husband Matti and I live on Ocean Drive with our two young boys Oskar and Hank, and our beloved Dachshund, Nancy. My boys attend Anchor Christian Academy, a local school in Hammond, where I serve on the PTA.  Because we’re a private school and don’t receive any federal funds, we do a lot of fundraising to support the small school.  One of the ways we fundraise is by collecting and recycling people’s unwanted cans and bottles.  All of the proceeds go directly to the Anchor Christian Academy PTA which uses the money to fund extracurricular activities, new equipment, and general maintenance around the school…

These will include access to the digital library that the Clatsop County Historical Society has populated with over 1,200 documents including most of the quarterly Cumtux publications,…
