Question of the day? Octoberfest or not…

To all members of Surf Pines Association: We (Community Relations Committee CRC) have spoken to Camp Kawanalong about events for 2020. No events are scheduled now. However they may decide to open the camp later with requirements. We will contact them again in August. Given that our Octoberfest food is provided by the CRC, and there may be limits to guest numbers. We wanted to ask our members about having it, or cancelling. Our other question is if our members would feel comfortable sharing space and food with a large group? So please share your thoughts on our social media sites or e-mail Katie Weber, who is coordinating what the membership would like.…

Kayak and Canoe Group Surf Pines

Hey Surf Pines Peeps. The Shady Pines Irregulars have started a socially safe Kayak and Canoe Group. Last Monday The Limbird’s, Seppa’s, Rogie’s and Smiths had the first run on Monday May 4. It was a fun couple of hours and we got lots of chasing done and some exercise to boot. (see Kay’s Pictures) We all agreed this is a hoot and want to do this again. There also are several people who have expressed interest in joining in. The plan…

Where did all those Daffodils come from?

Got this from a couple of long term SP members and good to know.  Do Daffodils Make You Smile? They did this for the ENJOYMENT and beautification of our neighborhood. Let’s NOT pick them but leave them for all of us to enjoy. Thank you! Surf Pines was originally a Daffodils farm started by Barney Lucas. They planted thousands of flowers along with Scotch Broom and Coastal Pines. He also Raised Pheasants and that is why you still have them here in Surf…
