As many of you are aware, on June 10, the north entry gate was repaired.  The person causing the damage has been identified and we are still working through Clatsop County Sheriff’s office. I appreciate the emails about the gates.  The repair was relatively easy.  No doubt if this exact situation happens again, we could repair it ourselves within a few hours.  We were reluctant for fear of voiding the warranty.  These gates are a break-away design.  Meaning if struck they will come off with reinstallation being straight forward.  The issue with this breakage was the impact from a higher speed head on occurrence.  While the gate could have been reattached the wiring to the lights was severed.  We could have…

The police has all of the information on the car. The deputy responding is back to work today (Monday 9 June). Originally, he said we would know something by the end of the week. Ken will follow up today. It was a white 4 Runner or Land Cruise with a heavy grill on the front. One of the deputies said he had recognized the car from Warrenton. We as a Board have received some questions about the extension of the vote, specifically whether the vote can be extended when conducting the vote by secret ballot. We have consulted with the Association’s legal counsel, who informed us that the Oregon Planned Community Act expressly allows the Board to extend the vote even when voting by secret ballot. Because there are a large number of members in Surf Pines, it presents a challenge in getting a full voter turnout. May 29, 2020 Fellow Surf Pines Members, Surf Pines’ BOD has approved the following changes to the Owner’s Guide for Gate Codes and Transmitters section, which will be update in June 2020. All members continue to have a personal 24-hour gate code.  At a member’s request, a second 24-hour code can be issued for use with guests, renters, contractors without codes, etc. A code can be replaced monthly if there is concern that it has been compromised.
