Gate crashed through again seventh time.

One of our delivery vans tried to piggy back through the gate. Got them. Camera shows it was a Parcel Delivery van, which hit the gate Tuesday at bit before 12:41 PM. Person came back and put gate against road out of way. Completely blew through it trying to piggy back another car. The driver did report to police and has insurance to cover damage. This time they tore out the wire harness so we needed to order a new arm from our gate vendor. As protocol, we left gate open till fixed. Probably a good thing with the big storm that hit Wednesday. Why does this keep happening? Some think it is…

More Bear Signs in Surf Pines

Yesterday as we were walking north on Shady Pines RD we saw this at the north east side of Shady pine RD about 30 feet north of Brent and Julie Seppa’s home. It has been identified as bear scat and is about 1 to 2 days old. Since the other bear was removed about three weeks ago this begs the question, whether this is the same bear who has returned or another new visitor. At any rate please be careful with your pets and young ones.

How our Social Media is working at SPA.

Thought you might like some good news for a change. Our social media program is reaping great results. If we can get some help updating content on the web we will be that much better. Yesterday we had 311 click throughs to our blog about the four articles that we published in FaceBook, NextDoor and our other social media . That is an all time record for one day. Here is a break down of what they were looking at.  Title Views Some Really Good News The Bakery is Open 106 Even Better news Gate Buster Busted 92 Another Loss to our Community 80 Home page / Archives 26 Question for old time…

    Questions about our new gate.

There have been several questions on why our gates are being broken so often and the costs to SPA. Here are some answers from what I know. Tom Question:Are we breaking even on the maintenance/replacement  of these new gates? It seems like it is taking quite a while for the newness to wear off the  public to realize they are there and need to be respected. When I look at these bills I am surprised at the costs and I wanted to know if the offenders are compensating us for their carelessness in each case. Driving through a closed or closing gate seems to be more common now than before when we…

Even Better news Gate Buster Busted

We have found our culprit who will be reimbursing Surf Pines for the damage they did to our gate the other day. They were identified once again with our gate cameras. This investment in cameras has already paid dividends. People keep asking why this keeps happening. First it seems to be only happening at the North end. It may be that it is a bit darker and/or sunlight may be a cause, since it seems to happen around late afternoon. We will be looking at ways to make the entry gate more visible. If the gates flashing red, watch your head!!! However, the biggest issue is that people keep trying to piggy…

Some Really Good News The Bakery is Open

Coming home from Freddy’s this morning and boy what a surprise. Hanging from the porch roof was a big Open Sign. We had heard from the former owners that Dough Dough Bakery from Sea Side had bought the bakery and we know someone has been living up stairs for over a month but this is hopefully some good news. We will share more after visiting the bakery. Hopefully today/
