North gate damage and the bad accident on 101 yesterday.
Ken,Thank you and Shawna for your extra efforts yesterday on managing the traffic that was trying to get around the horrific accident yesterday and having our north gate down. I have received several thank you from other members and I thought I would share some of those those with you and our Board/Committees that do not monitor our social media. This is what community is all about, supporting each other. The Document Normalization Vote does not take any new property rights away from members.
We are now over 87% of total votes and only need 11 more votes to hit 90%. We have been told that is enough votes to reach a consensus. Please there are still 52 members who have not voted. So, place your vote so we can bring this vote to a close. Some have said that these rules affect Short Term Rentals this is not correct. This document normalization does not have any restrictions for STRs. The county has implemented their own enforcement people and SPA supports the county. What rules in CCR vote impact property rights There are a couple of members who have said the Guiding Document Normalization vote is…

Clatsop County Launches New Rules to Manage Short Term Rentals
Over the last few years Short Term Rentals (STR’s) have become a source of revenue and additional vacation rental availability. They have also caused divisiveness and negative impacts on neighborhoods in the Clatsop County area. In 2018 the county promulgated rules to manage the proliferation of STR’s in unincorporated areas. This also generates revenue for the county by identifying STR’s who operate without permits. As many in Surf Pines (SP) are aware, we delayed establishing STR rules for our Association when the County established their rules. All SP residents/property owners should be aware of the County’s STR rules and regulations. Clatsop county has hired a company, LodgingRevs, as a full-time enforcement intermediary to follow up…

The Red Truck Owner who hit south gate has been located.
On January 25th at 9:57 am a red Ford F-250 attempted to follow a car through south entrance gate without success. The gate damage that was done to the arm included several dents and scratches, broken led lights and some minor hardware damage and electrical wiring was severed. The culprit was a contractor in Portland who has been working on ocean ave. He didn’t report accident or even stop. After a thorough review of the video and help from clatsop county sheriffs we have located the individual. I spoke to the individual on Thursday January 28th and he has agreed to pay for all damages and sincerely apologized. The gate has been repaired…
